I hired April and her team to do hair & makeup for my wedding on October 28th. There were 6 of us total. Most of my girls, including myself, weren’t use to wearing a lot of makeup but she made us look and feel comfortable and really captured the simple, natural look we were wanting. She is very fast at applying makeup and had us all ready in time for our photos we took before the ceremony. It rained on our wedding day and we had to get married indoors but we did take some photos outside and our hair and makeup held up perfectly in the humidity, wind and light rain. I highly recommend April and her team!!

The first step would be to give us a call or email to set up a wedding makeup trial appointment; since our weekends are mostly booked with wedding makeup and hair events, we prefer weekdays. (We might just have an opening, you are more than welcome to ask!)
Note: Sometimes our brides will schedule their trial on a night that they have planned a well-deserved date night with the hubby-to-be! Another idea for scheduling the wedding makeup trial is to coordinate the trial date with your photographer and possibly arrange to have your engagement photos taken that same day!

Make sure to have pictures available to show your bridal makeup artist the type of look you like. This way you can adequately convey what you want, describing to your look might not be how your makeup artist perceives it.

One-on-one consultation
It all starts with a one-on-one consultation wedding makeup trail, where every detail from your dress to your location will be taken into consideration. Whether you come to us or we go to you, you can expect professional consultations, which explore what is best for your needs and comfort level. We strive to create a shared approach in blending a client’s expectations with our expertise to achieve a unique and memorable makeup look for your wedding day.
After our wedding makeup trial
We will need to go over all of the details of your wedding day timeline. We want to make sure that all of your questions are answered and that we both have a clear understanding of what to expect on the wedding day.
Setup Contract
Once all of the details have been discussed, Faces by April will email your wedding makeup and hair contract to you for you to review and confirm. Once you have approved the contract, we require a 50% deposit to secure your wedding date booking.
Communication is key
- Pictures are the best way to communicate the look that you’re going towards for their wedding day.
- Talking with your artist about your regular makeup regimen is essential.
- Do you usually wear makeup? (For women that never wear makeup, anything can be a lot.)
- Do you have oily or dry skin?
- What are some concerns you may have?
- What is it that you don’t like, and what do you love?
As a bridal makeup artist, I always want my clients to know that they can tell me exactly how they feel about the look I’ve created for them.
Things to consider on the wedding day

- We ask that you have a clean, dry face. (NO MAKEUP)
- We allot for 20-30 mins per face for wedding makeup (not including wedding hair)
- Standard Gratuity rates are 15- 20% and is not included in the pricing
- We prefer no money exchanges hand on day of the wedding (It gets too messy)
We understand how much you have on your plate and do not expect for you to remember all of these details. We will touch base with you the week before the wedding to go over all details and make sure that you and your bridal party are completely prepared for our team to glam you ladies up on the big day!
